The Lord commanded that His people not make, own or woship idol images of other gods.
And yet, they rebelled and disobeyed His commands.
Below are some small idols of gods and godesses that were worshipped by Syrians, Egyptians and even the LORD God's people.
Bull Worship in Ancient Egypt.
Worshiping the Bull was around from at least the 1st dynasty. The strong bull was associated with the Pharoah, who was sometimes referred to as the "stong bull of his mother." As far back as 3,100 BC, Pharoah's were depicted in the form of a bull. There were 3 main bulls worshiped in Egypt.
1. Apis Bull. Pictured to the right.
2. Buchis Bull. Pictured to the left.
3. Mnevis Bull.
These Egyptian Bulls were why Aaron chose to make a bull god (golden calf) for the Hebrews to worship. In Egypt, they were constantly subjected to the worship of Egyptian idols, gods and goddesses.

Muhammad was raised in the religion of the moon-god Allah. But he went one step further than his fellow pagan arabs.
