Greek Mythology. The Colossus of Rhodes was an ancient bronze statue of the Greek god of the sun, Helios, was erected in the city of Rhodes, on the Greek island of Rhodes.

Bartholdi, the creator of the Statue of Liberty, made a proposal to build a large statue at the entrance of the Suez Canal in Egypt in 1867. He was inspired by the Greek godess, Hera, and the Colossus of Rhodes, the god of the Sun, Helios,  as well as Prometheus, a sun god to start building the Statue of LIberty in 1875.

The Statue of Liberty was inspired by 2 Greek gods and 1 or more Greek godesses. What we have is a statue that has become a national symbol of freedom and liberty. However, it is also a large idol that the LORD God has commanded us should not be built.

Leviticus 19:4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

Top Center: Prometheus, the sun god, gives fire to mankind and experiences the wrath of Zeus for doing so.

This plaque acknowledges Colossus, the Greek god, Helios, and indirectly gives credence to a mighty woman, the Greek godess Hera.

Exodus 20:32, 33 Thou shalt not covenant with them (Philistines), nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for it thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

The Yeti in Nepal

According to H. Siiger, the Yeti was a part of the pre-Buddhist beliefs of several Himalayan people. He was told that the Lepcha people worshipped a "Glacier Being" as god of the hunt. He also reported that the Bon religion believed the blood of the "mi rgod" or "wild man" had use in several mystical ceremonies. The being was depicted as an ape-like creature that carries a large stone as a weapon and makes a whistling whoosh sound. Wikipedia.

1+ million Hindus from around the world attend the sacrificing of animals to the godess, Gadhimai in Nepal.

When all the beheading of the animals is done, there will be over 300,000 carcases in this field to appease the godess Gadhimai..

YouTube video of the animal sacrifice at the Gadhimai Festival in Nepal. It is held every 5 yrs, that latest in 2014. If you are squemish, skip the video.

Depending on who you talk to, there are between 33 million and 303 million gods and godesses in the Hindu religion.

In this fenced in field, there will be up to 300,000 animals dead when it is all over.

Imagine that, this festival is held once every 5 years and all the sacrificing of these animals are to please just one (1) godess, Gadhimai.

In Hercules, the Legendary Journey's, a muscular Kevin Sorbo (half Roman/Greek  god and half human) plays the hero Hercules, who is always on the side of those who are oppressed. His travels usually include Iolas, his side kick, who helps him battle mostly evil gods, godesses and supernatual beasts and monsters. Xena, the Warrior Princess, and her partner, Gabriella (an Amazon princess) also fight the forces of evil. .

The Disney animated cartoon series of Hercules also incliudes many of the Greek/Roman gods and godesses who also fight against the hero. The fact is that the mythical Hercules had a very loose sex life. Should we let our children watch a god/man who is not what he is portrayed in these programs?

The Disney imagineers actually traveled to Nepal to photograph the country, their idolatrous temples, gods, godesses and worship of idols. These shrines are on the walk to The Everest Challenge, roller coaster. The Yeti, the star of the ride is also a god that is worshipped in Nepal.

Even though Elsa wasn't called a witch in the Frozen, animated feature, she had supernatural powers along with Grand Pabie, leader of the Rock Trolls whose supernatural powers bring healing to Anna. Typically, TROLLS are mean, hateful creatures in Norse mythology and Scandinavian fokelore.

I've got to ask the question...Did the worship of gods, godesses at the many shrines, with excessive sacrificing of hundreds of thousands of animals being beheaded, just to one godess. have anything to do with the earthquakes in the Nepali region that have brought so much devastation to so many?

Exodus 15:11-13 Who is like thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Thou stretchedst out thy right hand THE EARTH SWALLOWED THEM. Thou in thy mercy has led forth the people which thou hast redeemed:

thou has guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14

9. When thou come into the land that the LORD thy God givether thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10. There shall not be found among you anyone that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

11. Or a charmet, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12. For all that do these things are an abomination to the LORD: and because of these abominations, the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

13. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

14. For these nations which thou shalt possess, hearkened to the observers of the times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

The mythological god, Poseidon. Read about him here.

Again, we have a Temple of stone that was erected to worship the god Poseidon. Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquakes and horses. Although he was one of the supreme gods of Mount Olympus, he spent most of his time in his watery domain. Poseidon was brother to Zeus and Hades. These three gods divided up creation. Zeus became ruler of the sky. Hades had dominion of the underworld and Poseidon was given all water, both fresh and salt.

Inside the Temple, you find yourself trapped beneath the ocean as Poseidon and the evil lord Darkenon engage in a colossal battle.

Here we have another instance of familiarity with dieties (gods) that the LORD God commands us not to worship.

There are over 45 witches portrayed in Disney films and animations--some portraying good witches..God's word says all witches/witchcraft are evil.

On the surface the Little Mermaid is a beautiful, innocent character. However, in Greek mythology she is the daughter of the god, Triton, making her a godess. Triton is son of Poseidon making Ariel the 2nd cousin of Hercules.

Above, is Ursulla, the sea witch, who uses, deception and magic to give Ariel the desire of her heart, Prince Eric. Her payment exchange is Ariel's voice.

Triton gets involved and Ariel not only gets her voice back and her Prince Eric. Here is another instance of a sea godess marrying a human prince. Like Hercules, her offspring will be both god and human.

These mythological characters introduce children and their families to the world of god, godesses, witches and withcraft.

Our LORD God forbids it but we embrace these gods and allow the heart warming stories of these attractive gods and godesses to teach our children...

Exodus 23:24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, to serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. 1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubborness is as iniquity and idolatry. Valentine was a Roman priest at the time that Emperor Claudius persecuted the church. He issued an edict that young people should not marry. This was because he believed that young unmarried soldiers fought better than married soldiers because they would always be concerned about their wives and families, especially if they died in battle.Valentine started marrying these young people in defiance of the Emperors edict.Because of his In 269 AD, Valentine was sentenced to a 3 part execution of a beating, a stoning and finally decapitation. This was all because he stood for Christian marriage. He died a Christian martyr.

He was venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church on Feb 14.

Emperor Claudius II (213-270)                                                                        He died of the plague at 57 years old.

When most people think of Valentine's Day, they picture a little naked baby with wings and a bow and arrow that is used to make people fall in love. However, in actuality, Cupid/Eros is a god that was ordered by the godess Aprhrodite to use one of his arrows to cause the beautiful human, Psyche, to wake up and fall in love with an ugly human. Cupid falls in love with her and scratches himself with one of his own arrows and falls in love with her.Another example of Satan's co-horts hi-jacking a holiday by gods and godesses. Sad to say, many Believers still celebrate this ungodly holiday of the gods.

Passover Yes! Resurrection Sunday Yes! Easter No!                                            The Pagan Origins of "Easter"

The name "Easter" originated with an ancient godess and god. The venerable Bede (672-735 CE), a Christian scholar first asserted in his book De Ratione Temporum, that Easter was named after Eastre. She was the Mother Godess of the Saxon people in Northern Europe. Similarly, the Teutonic dawn godess of fertility was known variously as Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eastra, Eastur, Austron and Ausos. Her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: "eastre". Similar godesses were known as other names in other cultures around the Mediterranean, and were celebrated in the springtime. Some were: Aphrodite, named Cytherea (Lady of Cythera)

See the YouTube video of the sacrificing of these animals to the godess Gadhimai, if you have the stomach for it. Believe me when I say it is gruesome. Apparently, the government has discontinued this masacre, since the last one in 2014.

Fraser. Sculptor of the statue of Lady Justice (Justitia)

Statues of Contemplation of Justice and Authority of Law.

At the suggestion of architect Cass Gilbert, the United States Supreme Court Building Commission selected James Earle Fraser to sculpt the two statues beside the steps of the monumental entrance to the Supreme Court Building. While developing his design, Fraser wrote to Gilbert, “I think...the figures must have a meaning, and not be perfunctory and purely decorative, and after seeing the grandeur and simplicity of the Supreme Court room, I feel more than ever that the figures in front of it should symbolize that feeling and be a prelude to the spirit of the building.” Set atop nearly fifty-ton marble blocks are James Earle Fraser’s statues Contemplation of Justice (above left) and Authority of Law (above right). http://www.supremecourt.gov/about/FraserStatuesInfoSheet.pdf

These notes were in use between 21 August 1862 and 15 February 1876, and could be redeemed by the U.S. Postal Service for the face value in postage stamps. Fractional notes were issued in 3, 5, 10, 15, 25, and 50 cent denominations.

Themis, Goddess of Justice By Barbara Swatt. Updated by Cheryl Nyberg.A
common representation of Justice is a blind-folded woman holding a set
of scales. The origin of the Goddess of Justice goes back to antiquity.
She was referred to as Ma'at by the ancient Egyptians and was often
depicted carrying a sword with an ostrich feather in her hair (but no
scales) to symbolize truth and justice. The term magistrate is derived
from Ma'at because she assisted Osiris in the To the ancient Greeks she
was known as Themis, originally the organizer of the "communal affairs
of humans, particularly assemblies." Her ability to foresee the future
enabled her to become one of the oracles at Delphi, which in turn led to
her establishment as the goddess of divine justice. Classical
representations of Themis did not show her blindfolded (because of her
talent for prophecy, she had no need to be blinded) nor was she holding a
sword (because she represented common consent, not coercion). The
Roman goddess of justice was called Justitia and was often portrayed as
evenly balancing both scales and a sword and wearing a blindfold. She
was sometimes portrayed holding the fasces (a bundle of rods around an
ax symbolizing judicial authority) in one hand and a flame in the other (symbolizing truth).https://lib.law.washington.edu/content/guides/themis

Justitia is the daughter of Themis and Zeus. (The Oracles of Delphi connection)The personification of abstract concepts is characteristic of the Greeks. The ability of the goddess Themis to foresee the future enabled her to become one of the Oracles of Delphi, which in turn led to her establishment as the goddess of divine Justice. Some classical representations of Themis showed her blindfolded, holding a sword. The sword is also believed to represent the ability Themis had from cutting fact from fiction; to her there was no middle ground. Themis built the Oracle at Delphi and was herself oracular. According to another legend, Themis received the Oracle at Delphi from Gaia and later gave itto Phoebe.Statue of Themis, outside the former Law Courts, George Street, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.A Roman equivalent of Dike, the daughter of Themis and Zeus and personification of one aspect of Hellenic Themis, as the spirit of the divine rightness of law, was Iustitia (Anglicized as Justitia). Her origins are in civic abstractions of a Roman mindset, rather than archaic mythology, so drawing comparisons is not fruitful. Portrayed as an impassive woman, holding scales and a double-edged sword (sometimes acornucopia), and since the 16th century usually shown blindfolded, the sculpted figure outside a courthouse is typically Justitia or Lady Justice, not Themis. In the law courts at Vancouver, British Columbia, however, the statue is explicitly of Themis.

Persecution that Paul and Silas suffered for casting the "spirit of divination--the Pythian/Dragon Spirit" out of a certain damsel (little girl).

Acts 16:16-23 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of

divination G4436 met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying G3132: 17.The same

followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew

unto us the way of salvation. 18. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said

to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the

same hour. 19. And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and

Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, 20. And brought them to the magistrates,

saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, 21. And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. 22. And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. 23. And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

Statue of Freedom does not wear or hold a knitted liberty cap, as would have been expected in nineteenth-century art. The knit cap provided to freed
slaves in ancient Rome had been adopted as the symbol of liberty or freedom during the American and French Revolutions and was usually shownas red. The Statue of Freedom's crested helmet and sword, suggesting she is prepared to protect the nation, are more commonly associated with Minerva or Bellona, Roman goddesses of war. The history of the statue'sdesign explains why she wears a helmet rather than a liberty cap. The story of her casting reveals that some of the people who worked to create Freedom were not themselves free.

Construction Superintendent Captain Montgomery Meigs, who was overseeing the artistic decoration of the Capitol extensions, had already engaged American sculptor Thomas Crawford to create other sculptures for the building, including the Senate pediment. He also had Crawford make models for the two bronze doors and for the figures of Justice and History over the Senate door. Born in New York City, Crawford had established a studio in Rome. His portrait statues and groups of classical and historical figures had earned him a reputation as both talented and prolific.

This elaborate fountain is located in Washington D.C. outside the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress, the largest library in the world. It was created by the sculptor Roland Hinton Perry in 1897.

The fountain shows a scene from the court of the sea god Neptune.

Neptune is huge, about 12 feet tall, and is surrounded by the lesser god Triton, sea nymphs and other sea creatures and monsters.
