Solomon took many stange wives (700). Because he disobeyed the LORD, his wives got him in trouble.
1 Kings 11:1-13
1. But King Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharoah, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians and Hittites.
4. For it came to pass, that when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
5. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the godess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abmomination of the Amonites.
7. Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

Molech. the Ammonite/Canaanite fire god was an idol of molten metal. The inside was hollowed out and fire burned beneath until the idol was red hot. At this point, they would throw their babies, one by one, unto the red hot arms and they were burned alive. Loud musical instruments were played to try to drown out the screams of the burning babies. Jews even fell into this abominable practice of infanticide..
Today, aborted babies are usually already dead when they are thrown into incinerators. Their unheard screams are not heard in the woman's womb as they are torn apart and sucked out, burned in the womb with chemicals. In the case of late term abortions, they are birthed up to the head and a sharp, surgical instrument is plunged in the back of the neck. Then they are are burned in the incinerators. ,

In 832 BC, 1 Kings 8:62-65 we learn that Solomon approved the sacrifice 22,000 oxen, 120,000 sheep as they celebrated with a Feast/Festival of Dedication of the Temple in Jerusalem that lasted 14 days.

The Ammonites and Moabites descended from Lot's two daughters who had an incestuous relation with their father. Their children became the people of Ammon and Moab.
Because these nations were descendants of Lot, God protected them initially; Moses told Joshua not to destroy them. Deut. 2:9, 19.
The Ammonites started to worship Molech and the Moabites started worshipping Chemosh. These gods were very similar and required infant sacrifice and the giving over of children to prostitution which was forbidden by God. (Leviticus 20:5) and denounced later by the prophets (Isaiah 15:1--16:3, Jeremiah 48:1--49:6)
Moab hired Balaam to curse Israel, but God turned the curse into a blessing. (Numbers 22:1--24:25)
Ammon and Moab were exluded from the assembly and Israel was forbidden to make peace with them. (Deuteronomy 23:1-8)
The Ammonites and Moabites continued to plague Israel with their false gods. Solomon even built temples to Molech and Chemosh. (1 KIngs 11:1-8)
King Ahaz and King Manasseh of Judah even sacrificed children to Molech (2 Kings 16:2, 3, 21:6)
Eventually King Josiah rid Israel of all foreign gods. (2 Chronicles 34:7, 2 Kings 23:10)

Barnabas called the god Jupiter and Paul called the god Mercurius.
At Lystra Paul was used by God to bring healing to a man who was impotent (lame) in his feet and had never walked, perceiving that he had faith to be healed. He commanded the man to stand and walk and the man did.

The 450 Prophets of Baal accept Elijah's challenge to call upon their god to burn their sacrifice on the altar. They cried out to Baal and were ignored by their god.

Elijah built the altar and soaked it with water. Then he called upon the LORD God and fire came down and consumed the sacrifice, the stones and the water, even in the ditch. Then Elijah took the prophets down to the river and killed the 450 prophets of Baal.

1 Samuel 28:7- 21
7. Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and esquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman, that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
